DOG TRAINING with Nicole
“Don’t be afraid of being different. Be afraid of being the same as everyone else.”
I have always had the desire to be a student of the dog; absorbing everything each individual puppy or dog has to teach us. My passion to learn from others and continue my education has allowed me to continuously challenge myself in dog training; from elegant movements to agility to scent work — all the way through working to certify in Human Remains Detection.
What we offer:
There is no doubt when we invest time and money into dog training we want to see progress and results. It’s our goal to assist owners in extracting their dog’s full potential by helping owners showcase their natural skill sets, build handler confidence, stay accountable, and focus on forward progress. Success is rooted in dedication, time management, perseverance, grit, patience, courage, and trust.
To begin the training process it is critical to assess the puppy or dog in front of you and what it is capable of. It is equally as important to assess the current owner’s (or handler’s) talent, understanding of the effort it takes to train a dog, and work to set realistic goals. We always recommend starting training as soon as possible (ideally eight weeks old) to work on appropriate socialization, building indifference, and helping the dog to create great habits instead of later looking to try to fix them.
Our training is based upon creating, not destroying. This means we focus on building reliable foundations vs. trying to take a defensive approach such as “if the dog is not performing, correct him more.” In fact, I would say we are the exact opposite of that and believe in skill building and fairness to the dog in order to achieve results.
